We fell in love with cavapoo puppies for their temperament. They are loyal, smart, and very affectionate, similiar to the bernedoodle – but they can be much smaller. Since breeding bernedoodles, we've realized that some of our families have really been wanting a smaller, lap sized dog with the same temperament as the bernedoodle. After a lot of research, we realized that adding cavapoos would allow us to provide these families with exactly what they're looking for.
What is a Cavapoo?
A cavapoo is a king charles cavalier and poodle mix. It can also be a cavapoo and poodle as well.
How big do Cavapoos Get?
King charles cavaliers usually don't get any bigger than twenty pounds, but the cavapoo weight really depends on the size of the poodle they pair with. There are a lot of weight range stats out there. Just be sure to ask about the parents of the litter to truly get a good idea for their size. Of course, it's not an exact science, but knowing the history of the parents and knowing which pup in the litter is tracking on the larger vs. smaller side is a great sign too.

Do Cavapoos have any health issues?
As with any breed, there is the potential for health issues, but thankfully we health test ALL our parents before breeding. We also include a 2 year health guarantee for both our bernedoodles and cavapoos.
Which is better an F1 or F1b Cavapoo?
Neither is better, but one may be a better fit for you and your family depending on what you're looking for. An F1 cavapoo is a first generation cavapoo, so a king charles cavalier and a poodle, a 50/50 mix. An f1b is a cavapoo, so a king charles cavalier and a poodle, meaning they'll be a 75/25 mix. If you'd prefer more poodle, than an f1b could be better, but it really boils down to their individual temperaments. Anytime you're contemplating bringing home a puppy, always ask about their individual temperament first. Understanding more about their temperament will help you so much more than whether or not they're an F1 or F1b.
Baby Cavapoo
It's amazing how quickly they grow up. Recently, Ruby gave birth to a singleton cavapoo litter. This is when only one puppy is born into a litter. This doesn't happen very often, but when it does, we really fall in love. Some breeders just use colors to identify their pups, but we like to use colors as well as names. So of course, our singleton cavapoo girl in this litter was named Baby Girl. She has since found her furever family and we are so excited for her! It will be hard to say goodbye, but knowing she's going to a wonderful furever home makes it easier. Watch how quickly she's grown up!
